SCALINATA BORGHESE
Built in the heart of Genoa at the beginning of the 20th century, the Borghese staircase complex, which had been in a state of neglect for several years, is once again shining through the precious restoration work carried out by Ecoedile Srl. In full Art Nouveau style, the staircase leads to a panoramic belvedere that was a real shame to deprive oneself of. The final project, realised for the benefit of the community, consists of a fair balance between rooms dedicated to dining and city relaxation and more institutional spaces intended for the conference hall. A further highlight is the idea of designing a winter garden right on the terrace, surrounded by a nymphaeum. "An example of cooperation between the public and private sectors," said Governor Giovanni Toti, "which gives new life to an Art Nouveau jewel that was a symbol of decay. The fact that the municipality has given the space to private individuals to manage and that they will obtain various functions from it is a fine example."
