SUARDI HOUSE

SUARDI HOUSE

Nestled in the enchanting historic setting of Bergamo, Casa Suardi is being recovered and returned to the city during the year of Bergamo Brescia Capital of Culture. The palace, which became the seat of studies of the University of Bergamo in the 2000s, retains some of its original medieval features, as the valuable design criteria of the company Ecoedile Srl did not lack a conservative operation that was able to carefully preserve the decorative apparatus.

In fact, in order to allow its historicity and beauty to be appreciated, every executive choice was dictated by the desire to strictly protect Casa Suardi in every part, wherever possible. A program of minimal transformation interventions aimed solely at enhancing the specific characteristics of the individual rooms. In particular, the project is a combination of commercial activities, located on the ground floor, and cultural activities, reserved for the first and second floors, rooms of greater historical and artistic value. "The piece of Casa Suardi represents an important new contribution in the increase of cultural spaces in our city, strengthening even more the role of Capital of Culture," says Councillor for Urban Redevelopment Francesco Valesini.
