The renovated structure of the Savona Fire Station, through the intervention of the company Ecoedile Srl, is equipped with a state-of-the-art crisis room and operations centre, some of the most advanced technologies of the time. This project has further improved the efficiency and speed of fire brigade interventions, making the facility even more functional and operational. Initially, the site chosen in the 1950s was an industrial building for a preserved fruit factory, which limited the space and volume available. Today, the new facility incorporates the most modern building concepts for fire brigade operational headquarters, with garages with exit doors directly on the Via Aurelia, modern air-conditioning and energy-saving systems, and an emergency power supply system. In addition, the new headquarters was designed according to modern anti-seismic criteria for strategic civil protection structures; and with direct access to the sea, making it functional for the activation of a water rescue garrison for the beaches of Savona and Vado. A fitting restoration project for those who courageously and determinedly face every emergency situation.
